Telltale Games Finally Releases Guardians Of The Galaxy

Telltale Games has finally released Guardians of The Galaxy onto Android, having made the game officially live on the Play Store as of a little earlier this week. With this latest game in the Telltale lineup players who are new to the series type and those which are loyal fans can expect tons of storytelling like in previous games from the team, but with all of the added hilarity that surrounds the cast of characters from this particular franchise.

Like some of the other game titles that Telltale offers, such as Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy will cost players $4.99 up front, but this will only be for the first episode of the game as again like other games in their lineup, it will be episodic and other episodes will be released at later dates in the future. Players will have the option to purchase episodes on a case by case basis, but for those that are anticipating wanting all five of the episodes as they come out there will be a season pass option that will provide players with all of them on launch day and it will allow for a little bit of a discount compared to when buying them one by one, which is the main reason to get the season pass. The multi-episode pack will contain episodes 2-5 and will be available as an in-app purchase.

While the cast of main characters will see Star-Lord, Groot, Gamora, Rocket, and Drax all included in the game, the storyline will not follow along with the events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe meaning that the story in the game will be a completely new story meant specifically for this title. It is worth noting that the game is not compatible with all Android devices at this point, as the company mentions it will only work with devices that are running on Android Lollipop versions which support OpenGL 3.1, as well as Android Marshmallow. Having said that, they also give examples of the devices that do work, which includes the Pixel and Pixel XL, both of which launched with Nougat, so presumably any devices running on Android Marshmallow and above will be ok here. There are also some requirements on the GPU, which includes the Tegra K1 and Tegra X1, the Adreno 418, 420, 430, 505, and 530, the NVIDIA Maxwell, and the Mali-T760 and Mali-T880. If you have a device with one of those supported GPUs then download the game and give it a try, and if it doesn’t work you can always uninstall and get a refund within the refund period.
